In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to set up a WordPress website on Bluehost. Bluehost is a popular choice for WordPress hosting because they offer lots of additional services and 24/7 support should you need that.
Signing Up To Bluehost
The first thing you need to do is sign up to Bluehost, you can do so by clicking herehere. To be clear this is an affiliate link, using it costs you nothing extra and might actually even save you some money and it provides me with compensation so I can provide this free tutorial series. It’s pretty self-explanatory when you go onto the Bluehost website after you’ve clicked on the link, you just click on the ‘get started now’ button.
Then you can choose a plan. Now if you’re going to get your domain name with Bluehost, which I definitely recommend so that it is just easier, I suggest that you choose the prime plan, because it includes the domain privacy (WHOIS Privacy Protection). This means that if someone searches for your domain name on who.is, they don’t have your name, address and other sensitive details. Choose any of the plans, based on the required resources for your website.
Once you’ve selected a plan, you’ll be asked to choose a new domain, or if you have an existing domain, you can just enter it in the text box provided, then click on next.
Next, enter some basic information as required on the page. Once you’ve done that, scroll down and confirm your plan. You can choose how many months you want to pay for upfront. The more months you pay for upfront, the lower the price will be, for example, if you pay for 12 months upfront, it will be about $5.95/month, but if you pay for 36 months upfront, it will be $3.95/month. Then just enter in your credit card information and click sign up.
Setting up WordPress
Next, create a password for your account Once you’ve done that agree to the privacy policy. Click next and then log in. You can choose from any of the themes listed, or otherwise, if you want to add a premium theme later on, you can scroll down to the bottom and click on skip. A page which says “All Done!” will show up. You can then click on the start building button to go to your WordPress dashboard.
Once you’re on the dashboard, Bluehost will ask you a few questions so it can make the process of setting up your WordPress website easier. If you don’t need help you can click on the “I don’t need help” button.
Now you’re all done! You can start building your website or hire a developer to do it for you.
